Get to know your Makeup Artist

Hey, I'm Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Liz! - Makeup Artist 
So, my journey as a makeup artist begun when I was very young. I always remember playing with my mum’s makeup as a little girl, but I became OBSESSED when I was around 14 years old. Ever since then I can't think of a day where I'm not playing with makeup! When I was 14 years old, I began a YouTube channel and created makeup tutorials (which I look back on now and laugh) but this was a platform for me to showcase my passion for beauty, it has been a very rocky road for me ever since as I had a few bad comments from people because they didn't understand what I was doing or why I was putting up videos of myself applying makeup, but I stuck to it and I am still doing it to this day at 23 years old. 
I honestly never thought I would be applying makeup as my job, but I absolutely LOVE it!! I started around 2 years ago and have grown skills and confidence along the way. I started off on my own for a few months, but I then got into a salon in Cardiff which I was so proud of myself as I was still in university studying Fine Art and at that point didn’t have a clue about what I wanted as a career. Working at the salon as my own makeup artist really pushed me and I gained so much confidence not only with applying makeup on clients, but confidence in myself. I then had an amazing opportunity to work alongside Jenna McDonnell, who is an award-winning hairdresser/ makeup artist. It was an honour working for Jenna and when she asked me to also do some makeup appointments at her salon that hit it over the edge for me and I was so proud to do so. Later on in the year I then applied for the role of counter manager for Clinique and I again doubted myself and thought I’d never get the job, but I went to the interview anyway as I thought I had nothing to lose (which I nearly didn’t go to, but my lovely boyfriend helped push me to go) I went and well… I got the JOB!! So, from September 2019 till this day I am currently working for Clinique full time.
